Hydro Test/Recharge Adapters
Recharge adapters are the fittings and connection tools used to refill fire extinguisher cylinders and fire suppression system agent tanks with the correct suppression agent under pressure. Each adapter is specific to the valve type, thread specification, and agent system it serves. Using the wrong adapter can cross-contaminate agents, damage valve seats, or result in an incomplete recharge that renders the system non-functional.
Examples include the Amerex KP T-Handle Recharge Adapter (P/N 12855) for Amerex KP wet chemical kitchen suppression cylinders, and similar adapters for CO2, dry chemical, Halotron I, and other agent types. Confirm the correct adapter for the specific extinguisher or system cylinder model with the manufacturer's recharge documentation before servicing. Recharging fire extinguishers and suppression systems must be performed by a qualified technician per NFPA 10 (Standard for Portable Fire Extinguishers) and the applicable system installation and maintenance manual.
