1-1/8” to 1-5/16” Quick Patch #205
The Evergreen 205 Quik-Patch is the industrial-grade blind fitting for sealing large-diameter penetrations from 1-1/8" to 1-5/16" (28.6 mm to 33.3 mm). Where smaller patches target 7/8" or 15/16" openings, the 205 is engineered for the broader demands of decommissioned 3/4" pipe runs, union pipe connectors, and 1/2" NPT adapter holes in exhaust hoods, HVAC cabinets, and fire suppression enclosures. It provides a permanent, liquid-tight, grease-proof cold-fix that satisfies NFPA 17, NFPA 17A, and NFPA 96 requirements without welding or hot-work permits.
Constructed from nickel/chrome plated carbon steel with a high-temperature pliable compression gasket rated to 100 PSI differential pressure, the 205 is built for the extreme thermal cycling of active exhaust plenums and industrial enclosures. The nickel/chrome plating provides a sacrificial corrosion barrier against caustic degreasers and steam, maintaining the mechanical integrity of the lock nut and threads over the life of the installation. Available individually (P/N 205) or in a box quantity (P/N 211).

Surface Preparation
Thoroughly degrease the area around the hole before installation. Residual grease or oil on the hood or cabinet surface will cause the gasket to slip under compression, preventing a centered, liquid-tight seat and producing a leak path.
Torque Specification
A standard 1-1/2" wrench is all that is required. Hand-tighten the assembly until the gasket contacts the surface, then apply an additional half-turn to reach approximately 50 ft-lbs of torque. A correctly installed 205 shows a slight, uniform compression of the gasket around the edges of the cap -- this visible bulge confirms a liquid-tight seal.
Structural Consideration
The 205 is a solid blind fitting whose primary function is sealing. Its robust steel body does reinforce the material around the penetration and resists oil-canning (flexing) in thin-gauge stainless steel, but it is not a structural anchor. Any fire extinguisher brackets or adjacent hardware must be mounted to structural studs or substrate independently.
Can this patch be used for standard plumbing or conduit penetrations?
Yes. While the 205 is a staple in fire suppression decommissioning, it is a versatile industrial fitting suitable for sealing any 1-1/8" to 1-5/16" penetration in stainless steel cabinets or fume hoods where a permanent, liquid-tight, grease-proof barrier is required.
Is a specialized driver required?
No. A standard 1-1/2" wrench is sufficient. No specialized tooling is required to achieve a certified liquid-tight seal.
Does this patch provide structural support for adjacent piping?
The 205 is a sealing fitting, not a structural support. While its steel body helps prevent thin-gauge stainless steel from flexing around the sealed opening, any adjacent piping or brackets must be independently supported by the enclosure's structural framework.
