Wholesale PricingThe Potter AFC-100 is a reliable analog addressable fire alarm control panel designed for small to mid-sized commercial fire alarm systems. Supporting up to 100 addressable points on a single SLC loop, 99 software-defined zones for flexible input and output mapping, a 5-amp power supply (expandable), two NAC circuits rated at 3 amps each, and two I/O circuits, the AFC-100 delivers full commercial-grade fire alarm control panel capability in a compact package suitable for retail stores, offices, light industrial facilities, restaurants, and similar occupancies.
The AFC-100's analog addressable architecture gives it a significant advantage over conventional zone-based fire alarm panels — every connected device reports its exact identity and analog sensitivity value to the panel, enabling real-time monitoring, early dirty detector detection, and precise alarm location identification. For facilities that want the benefits of a commercial smoke detector slc fire alarm system without the cost and complexity of larger enterprise-grade panels, the AFC-100 is the right-sized solution.
Strobe synchronization with Gentex and System Sensor compatible devices ensures NFPA 72 compliant visible notification appliance operation throughout the protected facility. The built-in 5-amp power supply supports a broad range of fire alarm notification appliances on the two NAC circuits, and the expandable power architecture — compatible with the PSN-1000 notification power expander — means the AFC-100 can grow with the facility's needs without requiring panel replacement. For fire alarm parts suppliers and fire alarm equipment supplies contractors, the AFC-100 is a competitive and versatile fire alarm control panel for the commercial small-to-mid market.

SLC Device Installation
The AFC-100 supports up to 100 addressable devices on its SLC loop — including PAD300-series commercial smoke detectors, PAD100-series interface modules, and other PAD addressable devices. Each device must have a unique address before installation. Map all device addresses to software zones per the system design drawings before commissioning. Verify all device communications and alarm responses during the commissioning test and document in the fire alarm inspection and test records.
NAC Circuit Design
The two 3-amp NAC circuits support fire alarm notification appliances including horns, strobes, and combination devices. Calculate total current draw to verify each NAC circuit stays within its 3-amp rating. For facilities requiring additional NAC capacity, add the PSN-1000 notification power expander via the PLink interface. Ensure strobe synchronization wiring is correct per the Gentex or System Sensor synchronization module requirements.
Annual Inspection
Per NFPA 72, the AFC-100 and all connected devices must be tested annually. This includes functional testing of all commercial smoke detectors, manual pull stations, waterflow switches, notification appliances, and relay outputs. Fire alarm inspection and test records must be retained for the AHJ-required period. Fire alarm inspection stickers on the panel should be updated after each successful annual inspection. Central station reporting via the UDACT-9100 communicator should also be verified during the annual test.
How many devices can the AFC-100 support?
The AFC-100 supports up to 100 addressable points on its single SLC loop. Each PAD300-series smoke detector, heat detector, and PAD100-series interface module counts as one addressable point. Plan device counts carefully during system design to stay within the 100-point limit. For systems requiring more than 100 addressable points, a larger Potter fire alarm control panel model is required.
Is the AFC-100 compatible with releasing applications?
Verify with Potter's product documentation whether the AFC-100 is listed for fire suppression releasing service applications. Releasing panels have specific NFPA 72 requirements beyond standard alarm-only fire alarm control panel configurations. Confirm the intended application is covered by the AFC-100's UL listing before specifying it for releasing service.
Can I add more NAC capacity to the AFC-100?
Yes. The AFC-100 is compatible with the PSN-1000 intelligent notification power expander via the PLink interface, adding up to six additional NAC circuits with 10 amps of total notification power. This allows the AFC-100 to serve larger commercial fire alarm signalling installations without requiring a panel upgrade.
