Wholesale PricingThe Amerex 12854 is a 16-inch, 1/4-inch internal diameter OEM actuation hose for the Amerex KP restaurant fire suppression system. It connects the actuation module, either the MRM (Mechanical Release Module), PRM (Pneumatic Release Module), or SRM (STRIKE Release Module), to the discharge valve on the top of an agent cylinder, carrying the nitrogen actuation pulse that opens the valve and initiates agent discharge.
The KP system's actuation network can be made from copper tubing, rigid piping, this type of flexible hose, or a combination of all three. The 12854 flexible hose is used where rigid copper or steel piping cannot easily reach the discharge valve connection point due to space constraints or installation geometry. The system design limitation for 1/4-inch ID hose in the actuation network is 54 feet total, meaning the combined length of all 1/4-inch hose segments in a single actuation network must not exceed that figure. Correct total network length is verified during system design by an Amerex-certified installer.

The Amerex KP system is a pre-engineered system under NFPA 17A. Installation and any modification to the actuation network, including hose replacement, must be performed by an Amerex-certified installer.
- 54-Foot Network Limit: The total length of all 1/4-inch ID hose in a single actuation network must not exceed 54 feet. This is a system design limitation that your certified installer verifies during installation to maintain the system's UL 300 listing.
- Semiannual Professional Service: A qualified technician inspects the actuation hose for kinks, corrosion, or loose connections at each required semiannual service interval.
- Post-Discharge Inspection: After any system actuation, the hose must be inspected and the full system recertified before returning to service.
- OEM Part Only: Only genuine Amerex P/N 12854 should be used. Non-OEM substitutes have not been tested with the KP system and their use voids the system's listing.
Is this hose required, or is it optional?
The 12854 is an optional component used where rigid copper tubing or steel piping cannot easily reach the discharge valve connection point due to space constraints or installation geometry. Many KP system installations use rigid copper tubing throughout the actuation network without this hose. Your certified Amerex installer determines whether the flexible hose is needed for a given installation layout.
Why is there a 54-foot limit on 1/4-inch hose in the actuation network?
The Amerex KP system's actuation performance, meaning the speed and pressure at which the nitrogen pulse reaches all connected agent cylinders simultaneously, has been tested and listed with specific piping limitations. Exceeding the 54-foot total hose length can reduce actuation pressure or slow actuation response beyond what was verified during UL 300 listing tests, potentially affecting the system's ability to discharge all cylinders simultaneously on actuation.
